ADULTERY IN VIEW OF ISLAM

Adultery is included in one of the biggest sins. We all know what adultery is, but most of us do not know that adultery does not specifically mean to have illegal physical relations with a non mehram. It is not limited to a physical contact. It has a much broader meaning. There are many things /acts which come under adultery. And a shocking fact is that they are done by us. Knowingly and sometimes unknowingly.

Prophet Muhammad pbuh said;

Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 77, Number 609:

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

I did not see anything so resembling minor sins as what Abu Huraira said from the Prophet, who said, "Allah has written for the son of Adam his inevitable share of adultery whether he is aware of it or not: The adultery of the eye is the looking (at something which is sinful to look at), and the adultery of the tongue is to utter (what it is unlawful to utter), and the inner-self wishes and longs for (adultery) and the private parts turn that into reality or refrain from submitting to the temptation."

We always have choices. Its not that we cannot choose. We can do something and we can abstain from it as per our wishes. The job of satan is to present this duniya as a wonderland and to present the sins as fun filled acts. While, the job of our conscience is to protect us from the tricks of satan. Thus, we are given the free will which is backed by our conscience.

The seeing of an unlawful thing will either make us hate that thing or we will want to do that. It is again up to us. Why we should not see a wrong thing is because of our curious nature. Yes, we are born with the curious nature. We want to know. The proof is the story of adam pbuh and eve. Eve did not want to eat that forbidden fruit but it was satan who implanted doubt in her heart.

Compelled by the curiosity to know why the fruit was forbidden, adam and eve tasted it. Who knows what that fruit contained, but what we know is that Allah swt forbade them to go near that particular tree. It was their free will that led them there. Same is the case with all of us. This energy to know is always there in all of us. Now we can either channelise it in good way or bad way it up to us. Similarly, hearing a wrong word can make us hear more. Uttering a wrong word might make us say more. So there is a warning giver inside us.

Allah swt say in holy Quran;

[017:032] And do not even wander close to extra marital sex. Indeed, adultery is a way of decadence.

Thus, it is an act of disgrace and dishonor. Every sin is preferred to be done in secrecy while every good deed will be done without fear. So, whatever we cannot share with people out of the fear of disrespect is wrong. It is wrong in the eyes of Allah. And He sees us every where. Prophet Muhammad pbuh said;

Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 18, Number 154:

Narrated 'Aisha :

…. The Prophet then said, "O followers of Muhammad! By Allah! There is none who has more ghaira (self-respect) than Allah as He has forbidden that His slaves, male or female commit adultery (illegal sexual intercourse). O followers of Muhammad! By Allah! If you knew that which I know you would laugh little and weep much.

Such matters are always dealt with only one emotion. Ghairah. If ghairah is such an important matter for us, then imagine the ghairah of Allah swt. If we cannot want us to be disgraced or if we do not want ourselves to be with disgraced, then Allah swt is our creator. How can we make Him know about such things that people do. The punishment of adultery in islam is stoning to death. But there is a sahih tradition that suggests that if an adulterer does not receive the punishment and repents, then Allah is the forgiver.  Prophet Muhammad pbuh said;

Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 23, Number 329:

Narrated Abu Dhar:

Allah's Apostle said, "Someone came to me from my Lord and gave me the news (or good tidings) that if any of my followers dies worshiping none (in any way) along with Allah, he will enter Paradise." I asked, "Even if he committed illegal sexual intercourse (adultery) and theft?" He replied, "Even if he committed illegal sexual intercourse (adultery) and theft".

Thus, every sin has an eraser called repentance. If one really repents, then there is Allah mercy for him. It is again the matter of choice. we have both choices all the time.

‘SHIRK’ – THE WORST MAJOR SIN – AND ITS CONSEQUENCE

‘Shirk’ literally means sharing or associating partners. In Islamic terms it means associating partners with Allah and is equivalent to idolatry.

Shirk is the greatest sin that Allah will never forgive:

The Qur’an describes the greatest sin in Surah Al-Nisa’:

“Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgives anything else, to whom He pleases; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin most heinous indeed.”
[Al-Qur’an 4:48]

 

The same message is repeated in Surah Al-Nisa’:

“Allah forgives not (the sin of) joining other gods
with Him; but He forgives whom He pleases other sins than this: one who joins other gods with Allah, has strayed far, far away (from the Right).”
[Al-Qur’an 4:116]

Shirk leads to hell fire:

The Qur’an says in Surah Ma’idah:

“They have certainly disbelieved who say, “Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary” while the Messiah has said, “O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.” Indeed, he who associates others with Allah – Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.”
[Al-Qur’an 5:72]

Worship and Obedience to none but Allah:

The Qur’an mentions in Surah Ali-’Imran:

“Say: “O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah.” If then they turn back, say ye: “Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah’s Will).”
[Al-Qur’an 3:64]

The Glorious Qur’an says:

“And if whatever trees upon the earth were pens and the sea [was ink], replenished thereafter by seven [more] seas, the words of Allah would not be exhausted. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.”
[Al-Qur’an 31:27]

Our analysis of Concept of God in various Religion shows that monotheism is an integral part of every major religion of the world. However, it is unfortunate that some adherents of these religions violate the teachings of their own scriptures and have set up partners to Almighty God.

An analysis of the scriptures of various religions, reveals that all scriptures exhort mankind to believe in, and submit to One God. All these scriptures condemn the association of partners to God, or the worship of God in the form of images. The Glorious Qur’an says:

“O men! Here is a parable set forth! listen to it! Those on whom, besides Allah, you call, cannot create (even) a fly, if they all met together for the purpose! and if the fly should snatch away anything from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly. Feeble are those who petition and those whom they petition!”
[Al-Qur’an 22:73]

The basis of religion is the acceptance of Divine guidance. A rejection of this guidance has serious implications for society. While we have made great strides in science and technology, true peace still eludes us. All ‘isms’ have failed to provide the much vaunted deliverance.

WILL HINDUS THAT BELIEVE IN ONE GOD GO TO HELL?

The term “people of the book” is never explicitly restricted to some defined set of people in the Quran or in something that the prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said. Who it applies to is therefore up to us to workout based on the evidence available in each case which we encounter.

We must also be aware of the distinction between what is openly evident and what is hidden in the heart. In our earthly judgments we have to judge by what is openly evident.

In issues of the Afterlife, God judges us by what is hidden in the hearts. Even if Hindus as a whole are not classified as ‘people of the book’ for the sake of earthly judgments, we can never say for certain how God will judge an individual because we do not know what is in his or her heart.

We can only know what God says about how He will judge people. Anyone who believes in God and who tries to do what is right in their lives will have their reward from God. We know this from very clear verses in the Quran including.

{And they say: “None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian.” Those are their (vain) desires. Say: “Produce your proof if ye are truthful.” Nay,-whoever submits His whole self to God and is a doer of good,- He will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.} (All-Baqarah 2:111-2)

To believe in God and submit yourself to His will means to believe in God without partners or rivals in His power and authority to give law about right and wrong and hence how you should live your life.

Worshiping idols amounts to asserting that there is not one morality, one system of right and wrong, but that there are many rival moralities and many different masters to serve.

How can someone be a morally good person, how can they be submitting themselves to the will of God when they are in fact submitting themselves to multiple Gods? Of course it is impossible.

This is the core of the message of Islamic monotheism. As for whether Hindus could be regarded as monotheists, it may be that some of them think in terms of one God and universal morality and in so far as they try to live by that, God may reward them.

Indeed monotheism may be in the earliest teachings of their scriptures. However, much of this material is obscured by history and we cannot be sure of the original teachings.

Just as in Christianity, the earliest followers of Christ would not recognize much of what today passes for Christianity, the earliest followers of Krishna might not recognize what is today Hinduism.

We simply do not know with any great certainty. The situation of such people who are Hindus but still on monotheism would be analogous to these people who rejected worship of idols at the time of Prophet Muhammad and held to what remained of the monotheistic teachings of Abraham.

However, it must be stressed that we can be much more certain of the authenticity of the message of Prophet Muhammad and from that message we have evidence that he was indeed a Prophet with revelation and guidance from God.

Once people know enough about Prophet Muhammad, inevitably their hearts and minds will either accept it and become Muslims or they will reject it and become insincere. With sustained rejection of Muhammad’s message, such people lose any claim to be doing what is right and they know that their rejection is a great sin.

Such people, no matter what their creed, are not part of those mentioned in the verse above who will have their reward with God.

There is a simple test to see if people who claim to be on the true religion of monotheism are indeed on it.

{So if they dispute with thee, say: “I have submitted My whole self to God and so have those who follow me.” And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned: “Do ye (also) submit yourselves?” If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in God’s sight are (all) His servants.} (Aal `Imran 3:20)

Allah Ta’ala says:
“And those who guard their private parts save from their wives and those (slave-girls) which their righthands
own - so there is no blame upon them. Then whoever seeks beyond that (which is lawful), they are the
transgressors.’’ (Surah Al-Muminuun, Ayah 5 and 6.)

A hadith reported by Abdullah bin Mas’ud
(Radiyallaahu Anhu) in Bukhari and Muslim. He says that Rasulullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“0 group of youth! Whoever from amongst you can marry should do so because it keeps the gaze low and it
protects the private parts. And he who cannot marry should make it compulsory upon himself to fast because
it breaks lust. (Bukhari, vol 6, pg 117 / Muslim, vol 10, pg 172)

Another Hadith reported by Hasan bin Arfah that Nabi
(sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Seven persons are such that Allah Ta’ala will not look at them on the Day of Qiyâmah nor will He purify
them nor will He include them amongst the learned and Allah will enter them into Jahannum. They will enter
Jahannum first except for those who repent. As for those who repent Allah will accept their repentance.
1. A person who MASTURBATES.
2. A person who performs the act of sodomy.
3. The person upon whom the act of sodomy is performed.
4. A perpetual drunkard
5. The person who hits his parents so much so that they appeal for help.
6. The person who harms his neighbours so much so that they curse him.
7. The person who commits adultery with his neighbour’s wife.” ( Ibne Katheer, vol 5, pg 458)
3. Hadhrat Anas (Radiyallaahu Anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“The person who performs nikáh with his hands (i.e. he masturbates) is cursed”. (Tafsir Mazhari, vol 12, pg
94)

1. It weakens the sexual organs and creates partial looseness in it.
2. It weakens the nerves generally - a result of the exertion caused by this action.
3. It affects the growth of the limbs especially the outer part of the urethra (duct through which urine is
discharged from the bladder and the testicles). Hence it does not reach the limit of it’s normal growth.
4. It creates seminal (spermatic) inflammation in the testicles which causes quick ejaculation of sperm.
5. It causes pain in the vertebra column, the spinal column from which semen is ejaculated. This pain creates
crookedness and twisting in the back.
6. It causes some limbs like the legs to shake and shiver.
7. It creates weakness in the cerebral glands of the brain which, in turn, weakens the power of perception and
reason. Similarly, it leads to the weakness of memory.
8. It weakens the eye-sight and reduces its normal limit of vision.
9. It causes a person to become old before time.
10. It weakens the very delicate and fine nerves and veins of the sexual organs resulting in sexual impotency.
11. It causes an excessive loss of sperm by way of nocturnal emission (wet dreams).
12. It decreases the natural resistance of the body.
13. It causes harm to the four principal organs in the body viz, the heart, brain, liver and stomach.
14. It decreases the natural animal heat in the body, heat which strengthens the soul and body.
15. It causes an excessive loss of blood. Remember it takes 80 drops of blood to produce one drop of sperm.

16. It weakens the bladder.

“Three persons are such that it is a right upon Allah Ta’ala to help them:
1. The person who strives in the path of Allah;
2. The Mukatab slave who intends repayment (A Mukhatab slave is he who has a contract of frredom) and
3. The marrying person who intends chastity.”

"Gunna ka maza kuch minute tak hai"

THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYING ON TIME

Subhan Allah! How many times have we delayed our prayers for absolutely no reason, than rushed to pray at the last few minutes, and expected no punishment for our actions? Allah says in Sourat Al Maun: "Woe to the worshipers who are unmindful of their prayer." (Quran 107: 4-5) We need to start taking our prayers more seriously by praying as soon as the Adhan goes off. As my friend used to say "hayyah alasalah now, not later!" The Adhan is calling you to pray now, so don't delay it. InshAllah, this story will be a beneficial reminder for you and me on the importance of not delaying our prayers.

"There were only 15 minutes left before Salat-ul Isha.

He quickly made Wudhu and performed Salat-ul Maghrib.

While making Tasbih, he again remembered his grandmother and was embarrassed by how he had prayed.

His grandmother prayed with such tranquillity and peace.

He began making Dua and went down to make Sajdah and stayed like that for a while.

He had been at work all day and was tired, so tired.

He awoke abruptly to the sound of noise and shouting.

He was sweating profusely.

He looked around.

It was very crowded.

Every direction he looked in was filled with people.

Some stood frozen looking around, some were running left and right and some were on their knees with their heads in their hands just waiting.

Pure fear and apprehension filled him as he realized where he was.

His heart was about to burst.

It was the Day of Judgment.

When he was alive, he had heard many things about the questioning on the

Day of Judgment, but that seemed so long ago..

Could this be something his mind made up?

No, the wait and the fear were so great that he could not have imagined this.

The interrogation was still going on.

He began moving frantically from people to people to ask if his name had been called.

No one could answer him.

All of a sudden his name was called and the crowd split into two and made a passageway for him.

Two angels grabbed his arms and led him forward.

He walked with unknowing eyes through the crowd.

The angels brought him to the centre and left him there.

His head was bent down and his whole life was passing in front of his eyes like a movie.

He opened his eyes but saw only another world.

The people were all helping others.

He saw his father running from one lecture to the other, spending his wealth in the way of Islam.

His mother invited guests to their house and one table was being set while the other was being cleared.

He pleaded his case,

'I too was always on this path..

I helped others.

I spread the word of Allah.

I performed my Salah.

I fasted in the month of Ramadhan.

Whatever Allah ordered us to do, I did.

Whatever he ordered us not to do, I did not.'

He began to cry and think about how much he loved Allah.

He knew that whatever he had done in life would be less than what Allah deserved and his only protector was Allah He was sweating like never before and was shaking all over.

His eyes were fixed on the scale, waiting for the final decision.

At last, the decision was made.

The two angels with sheets of paper in their hands, turned to the crowd.

His legs felt like they were going to collapse.

He closed his eyes as they began

To read the names of those people who were to enter Jahannam.

His name was read first.

He fell on his knees and yelled that this couldn't be,

'How could I go to Jahannam?

I served others all my life,

I spread the word of Allah to others'.

His eyes had become blurry and he was shaking with sweat.

The two angels took him by the arms.

As his feet dragged, they went through the crowd and advanced toward the blazing flames of Jahannam.

He was yelling and wondered if there was any person who was going to help him.

He was yelling of all the good deeds he had done, how he had helped his father, his fasts, prayers, the Noble Qur'an that he read, he was asking if none of them would help him.

The Jahannam angels continued to drag him.

They had gotten closer to the Hellfire.

He looked back and these were his last pleas.

Had not Rasulullah [SAW] said,

'How clean would a person be who bathes in a river five times a day, so too does the Salah performed five times cleanse someone of their sins'?

He began yelling,

'My prayers? My prayers? My prayers.?'

The two angels did not stop, and they came to the edge of the abyss of Jahannam.

The flames of the fire were burning his face.

He looked back one last time, but his eyes were dry of hope and he had nothing left in him.

One of the angels pushed him in.

He found himself in the air and falling towards the flames.

He had just fallen five or six feet when a hand grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back.

He lifted his head and saw an old man with a long white beard.

He wiped some dust off himself and asked him,

'Who are you?'

The old man replied,

'I am your prayers'.

'Why are you so late! I was almost in the Fire!

You rescued me at the last minute before I fell in'.

The old man smiled and shook his head,

'You always performed me at the last minute, did you forget?'

At that instant, he blinked and lifted his head from Sajdah.

He was in a sweat.

He listened to the voices coming from outside.

He heard the Adhan for Salat-ul Isha.

He got up quickly and went to perform Wudhu.

Pass this on to your friends and family.... ...

Maybe, you can help someone open their eyes.

And who knows?

Maybe, this is a good deed that can help you during the day of judgement.

JEANS CULTURE

Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “There are two groups of the inmates jahannam whom I have not yet seen (they will appear after my demise). One of the groups are women who will be clothed, yet naked. They will attract others and they will be attracted by others. They shall not enter Jannah nor will they attain its fragrance, whereas its fragrance can be perceived from a great distance.” (Saheeh Muslim #5582)

The men and woman, the young and old, the rich and poor, all seem to be caught up in the jeans culture and in donning other revealing garments. Such a garment had to be designed which is body hugging, shape revealing, eye catching, tempting and appealing; ideal to destroy the moral fiber of any community by leading them into shamelessness, immodesty, fornication and adultery. Among other such garments the figure hugging jeans qualified the description and fulfilled the requirements.

Hazrath Ibnu Abbas radiyallahu anhu said: “Allah’s messenger sallallahu alayhi wa salam cursed the man who puts on female clothing and the woman who wears male clothing.” (Saheeh Bukhari #5885)

Today almost everyone seems to be coloured and clothed in the same type of clothing. Let us maintain our beautiful muslim identity and protect ourselves from the sweeping jeans culture. May Allah Ta’ala grant us the strength and guidance to remain firm. Ameen!
